Agape Animal Rescue presents their fifth annual Glitter and Glam event July 28, from 5-8p.m, at the Hutton Hotel.

Enjoy an evening filled with fashion, food, auctions and wine tasting.

Hosts

This year’s event will be hosted by “singer-songwriter, model and television personality” Kimberley Locke, and CMA’s recently chosen “Debut Spotlight Artist” Phoenix Stone. “Locke has achieved five Top 5 singles on the Billboard dance chart and ten Top 20 singles on the adult contemporary chart, the most of any Idol alumni.” Stone’s “debut country single “100 Proof Moonshine” has already “hit #1 on the New & Active Charts and Billboard Top 50,” and he is currently a “judge on the brand new reality television music competition “Next Great Family Band.”  (Glitter and Glam)

Fashion Designers

This year’s fashion show will feature Nashville Designers Corello for the humans and Baxter Bailey & Company for the furry friends. “Corello will be showcasing their 2013 “Black Jezebel Road” collection at Glitter & Glam. Core says the collection is inspired by Caballo’s country chart topping single of the same name and is about “delving into unfamiliar territories and realizing how familiar it really is.” (Glitter and Glam)

Baxter Bailey & Company’s latest collection, “Music City Mutt,” will serve as inspiration for the custom pieces going down the Glitter & Glam runway. “As a play off our company tagline, ‘Luxury Living For The Discriminating Mutt’, this product line will embody the look and spirit of Music City!” said Brown. Auctions

In addition to the fashion show, there will be a silent and live auction featuring over $15,000 worth of merchandise. A few notable items include “a one-of-a-kind autographed, oversized Thomas Kincaid painting and a Predators 2012-2013 team autographed jersey”.

Cause

All proceeds will go directly to Agape Animal Rescue, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, benefitting the dogs of Middle Tennessee. Agape Animal Rescue is dedicated to finding forever homes for abandoned and displaced dogs while educating the public to be more responsible pet owners.

Agape Founder, Tanya Willis said “Last year we raised over $37,000 and we hope to break $40,000 this year!”

“My dear old dog, most constant of all friends.” William Croswell Doane’s words have resounded again and again at Adrian Hitt Dogography. Adrian started her dog photography business 6 and a half years ago because of her love for her own sweet pup, Benny. As she photographed families in their homes, she noticed something special: when around their dogs, people would forget their inhibitions and openly share their childlike love for their fur babies. Over the years, so many clients have shared beautiful stories about their current or former pups, and it is always so clear that these four-legged children add so much love to their families. Our dogs fill our hearts with joy in their presence, and the holes they leave behind in their absence let us know they can never be replaced. We know our time with them is short, and having a photo can be such a wonderful way to treasure them for years to come.

“You’ve got to admit, dogs know how to show serious love for their humans. Their love can be seen pretty much every moment of every day, from the happiness they show when you come home to the longing look of affection they give when you aren’t doing anything at all.

Show some love in return (as if you don’t already) by capturing your dog’s personality in professional photo on Saturday, February 2nd at Harmony Designs Photography in downtown Nashville at Cummins Station. April Hollingsworth, renowned Nashville photographer, is hosting the event and will donate all proceeds to Agape Animal Rescue. There is a $25 per dog sitting fee. Any additional $10 per person will be added on for humans wanting to be photographed with their dogs.*

Be sure to arrive early, as the event is first-come, first-served and only runs until 2:00 p.m. that day.

Hollingsworth specializes in pet photography and has achieved amazing results in portraits of pets and family. You will come away with a rock-star-quality photo of your beloved pet you can keep forever. Display it on your mantle or keep it in your walled. Who knows, it may be the beginning of your dog’s professional modeling career. Make it work!

Last year’s Luv My dog Day event was a big hit, with over 40 dogs being photographed, and 2012 is already providing to be a winning year for Agape. Come support local dog rescue while showing some love to your favorite pooch this February. Showcase frame and gallery canvas specials will be offered to everyone who attends. Bring our dog’s favorite toy, treat, article of clothing or anything else you think would help make your dog feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Middle Tennessee is fortunate to have a “professionally-staffed wildlife rehabilitation and education facility in Middle Tennessee” called  Walden’s Puddle. Walden’s Puddle “provides care and treatment to sick, injured and orphaned Native Tennessee Wildlife.” They don’t “charge for services and receive no federal or state funding making donations critical to their success helping “2500 injured and orphaned animals annually.”

Their Chairman/CEO and acclaimed singer songwriter, Lane Brody, noted that 90% of their yearly budget goes directly toward the mission and animals and the majority of people advising and staffing the organization are volunteers, from the board members to those providing animal care. Brody noted “volunteers mean everything” and that they rely heavily on the “generosity of donors.” It is a true testament to the organization and what they do that so many have given so generously of their time, treasures and talents. If interested in supporting them, you can volunteer, donate to the organization by visiting their website, or attend their Fall Fundraiser “Fall Call of the Wild. ”

This year marks Walden Puddle’s Second Annual “Fall Call of the Wild,” scheduled for Thursday, October 25th at 7p.m. The fundraiser will be held at the Sound Kitchen Recording Studio in Franklin Tennessee. Proceeds will directly benefit their mission to care for sick, injured and orphaned animals in Tennessee. The event will feature a fabulous spread by the Bound’ry, wine and cigar bar, a silent auction including local treasures like artwork, jewelry, guitars signed by local stars including George Strait, jewelry and more. It wouldn’t be a the same with out some of Walden’s Puddle’s own Animal Ambassadors, those non-releasable animals that help with education and outreach! Guests might get to see Maverick the red-tailed hawk, Phoenix the kestrel, Carson the screech owl or maybe the opposums Radar or Penny.

There will also be a special premiere viewing of the DVD: “Giving Wildlife a Second Chance, You Can Feel Good About It!” It’s Walden Puddle’s new video created by their Chairman/CEO, Lane Brody, which presents their mission and illustrates Walden’s Puddle’s “service to the community to people and animals.”

Brenda, a former Walden’s Puddle volunteer, serves as a contact for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department helping transport injured animals to Walden’s Puddle. She used to train dogs in Search work for the deptartment for 15 years. In addition she donates her photography services to help Walden’s Puddle and has taken many animals there to be healed over the years.
